Walk Now For Autism
The Rose Bowl was hopping as a crowd of more than 15,000 donators emptied their wallets and swarmed onto the track on a gorgeous Saturday morning to participate in the sixth annual Autism Speaks Walk Now for Autism.
Music filled the air as the USC Trojan Marching Band performed and the USC Song Girls entertained those in attendance by dancing for the event that raised more than $1.2 million this past Saturday.
People flooded the historic stadium from all over the Los Angeles area. Most of the participants were wearing hats, pins, buttons, bracelets, and colorful t-shirts to show their support.
“The response from the Pasadena community was unbelievable,” Belcher said. “They really went above and beyond when it came to helping us raise money for a great cause.”
The fundraising event appears to be healthier than ever as it saw a 25% increase in participation this year compared to the 12,000 people that attended the walk in 2007.
